…..a great swathe of cloud in front of the hill reached down to touch the earth behind the trees. By the time I got organised – this was all that remained of it.

The age of the dry stone walls which run alongside the burn and down to it can only be imagined.

I always try to turn off and stop for a while here to sketch and photograph the view. It’s one of those rare places where the sky always seems to be doing something.
From the landscape just north of Dundee
Burnside of Duntrune…I’d no idea this pond and weir existed, looking more like a scene from the south of England than its actual location just a few miles north 0f Dundee.
The bull said absolutely nothing, and just made the slightest movement of his head to track all my nonsense with a camera. Everything here is saturated with water and the road is flooded further on.
